A 245 mm tire usually suits a 7–9" wide wheel (about 8" is ideal). Your 9" wheel is in range.

Calculated from the sizes you enter; real tires vary by brand and model. Clearance also depends on your car's suspension, brakes, ride height and fender shape, so treat this as a guide and confirm fitment with your wheel and tire seller.

Reading the results

Outer lip (poke)A plus number means the new wheel sits further out toward the fender. Around +10 mm is usually unnoticeable; +25 mm and more is a visible change.

Inner edge (clearance)A plus number means less room between the wheel and your strut, control arms and brakes. Check this one carefully if you're going wider.

DiameterKeep the overall tire diameter within about 3% of stock so the speedometer, ABS and gearing stay close to how the car was designed.

Offset calculator questions.

What does this offset calculator show?

Enter your current wheel and tire size and the new one. It shows how far the new wheel's outer lip moves toward the fender (poke), how much closer the inner edge gets to your suspension and brakes, the change in backspacing, and how the overall tire diameter changes.

What is wheel offset?

Offset (ET) is the distance in millimeters from the wheel's centerline to the face that bolts to the hub. A higher positive number pulls the wheel in toward the car; a lower or negative number pushes it out.

How do width and offset work together?

Every extra inch of width adds about half an inch (12.7 mm) on each side of the centerline, then the offset change slides the whole wheel in or out. That's why a wider wheel with lower offset can poke out a lot while barely moving on the inside.

How much poke is too much?

It depends on how much room your fenders have. Many people aim for the tire to sit flush with the fender lip. More than that risks rubbing, and in some places wheels and tires that stick out past the bodywork aren't road legal.

Does this check if the wheels will fit my car?

No calculator can promise that. It compares two setups precisely, but clearance also depends on your brakes, suspension, ride height and the exact tire. Use it to compare options, then confirm with your wheel seller.
